Dear Teacher Colleagues,
I have great pleasure in extending my greetings and felicitations to all my teachers and teacher colleagues on the occasion of the National Teachers’ Day. It is said, “No society can rise above the level of its teachers”, emphasizing that the teacher sets the norms for quality, ethics, integrity, and excellence at all levels. We celebrate Teachers Day on 5th September every year in honor of our great teacher-philosopher-statesman, Dr. Sarveppalli Radhakrishnan, born on September 5, 1888, who was the First Vice-President of India and the Second President of India. Let us also pay tribute to this great teacher!
As of now, we are all in turbulent, disruptive times because of the pandemic. New and innovative roles for teachers are fast emerging now. Technology is becoming handy to connect ourselves with the learners in an unprecedented way. But at the same time, we also know that technology cannot teach, only teachers can teach. It is for us to create appropriate technologies for resilient teaching. I salute the entire teaching community whose dedication and commitment contribute to the building of our Nation and the society at large.
